Not only are they fashionable and cute but it seems more comfortable and practical as far as keeping all of a mommies parts covered and staying in place while swimming with our babies.
Honestly, I have usually worn a tankini or a one piece since I became a mom to be modest and to spare the public from the horror of my jiggly mommy tummy with stretch marks. But really, a one piece just isn't practical for wearing for an extended period of time and making multiple trips to the restroom. I am also finding that I really don't appreciate the extra fabric of a tankini that bunches up underneath my coverup or flaps around while jumping in to the pool. So, I have decided that I just don't care if some of my stretch marks see the light of day (they actually look better now with some tan color on them) and I am going to wear what makes me comfortable. Go ahead and judge me and If you really don't like it then you can go to a different beach or pool.
You still won't find me prancing around in a string bikini but I can definitely handle the high waited retro styled two pieces that have resurged.
I do believe that now is coming into the best time of year to buy a bathing suit since all of the retailers put them on discount to make room for fall styles.
Here are some of my favorites:
